So, I divided the article into 2 parts because I didn’t want a wordy single blog, we all hate scrolling through long articles. In this second last articles I will explain bloatware on mobile, and how it affects your choice of device.

The mobile world as of 2020 is dominated by 2 operating system, android and iOS.  Windows mobile tried some years back and we all know the story, most of you that is. So, on iOS there is no issue with bloatware as it is with Android. So why do android phones have so many bloatware. Android as an OS is open source, the only thing required is a licence to use google services. Several manufactures like Samsung and Huawei have skins or customized User Interfaces on top of android to give their phones some unique identity and added features. Personally, I consider this a bloatware already. Ill make another article explain stock android/android one program, be on the lookout.

There are several categories of apps in explaining a bloatware and we went through them in the previous article. Most manufactures especially Chinese brands have so many pre-installed apps in the phone. You buy a new phone and out of the box you have social media apps, instant massagers e.g. WhatsApp/telegram and other apps that you can’t uninstall. Those are what we call bloatware, not everyone want twitter pre-installed in their devices.

In some instances, users have always complained about the pre-installed apps taking up so much space and consume a lot of ram and draining battery, which totally true. Several phones come with ram cleans pre-installed, why? That is the one eating up your ram and slowing down your smooth browsing experience. A bloatware free phone is a phone that out of the box only has clock, google services, phone app, dialler and a store for you to CHOSE the apps you want.
