( 6 TECH LIES YOU HAVE BELIEVED)
We all have come across these stuff on the internet while googling for tips or troubleshooting. Let me not make this a lengthy introduction and go straight to the 6 tech tips that are not true at least in the current era.
- ICOGNITO MODE MAKES YOU ANONYMOUS

A of people think that by browsing in incognito, the website cannot detect you, this is a lie as this mode only doesn’t save your history and cookies. But the website is still able to track you. The best practice is using a VPN to hide your actual IP address.
- MOBILE OPARATORS STEAL YOUR DATA

We hear this every time and I know am going to be the Devil’s advocate in this one. So here goes nothing. Your Mobile service provider doesn’t steal your data. The weird apps and background operations in your mobile OS use your data because they run in background by default. System apps like google play services are wild with battery and data. So next time before your lash out at your provider, give your device a good look especially those running on heavy skinned android with bloatware, thewy are the real enemies.
- YOU NEED TO CHARGE THE BATTERY FOR 8 HOURS

No, you don’t need to charge your new device either a phone, power bank or headphones/earbuds for 8 hours after unboxing. If it has some juiced from the store you can excitedly start using it. Your battery will be okey. We are not in the Walkman and iPod era anymore or feature phones.
- THE MORE THE RAM THE FASTER THE DEVICE

While RAM is used for memory management, the processor does most of the work. So, you will ask “how much or RAM do I need in my PHONE OR COMPUTER?” (I should do a blog on this alone actually comment below if you would like such). The quick answer is;
For Mobile: 4 gb or ram is good, 6gb is great, 8gb is awesome anything above that is just extra.
For PC: 4gb is okey, 8gb is good, 16gb is great 32gb is awesome. Anything above this is flexing.
The RAM issue in pc is a bit complex so a blog will drop soon explaining this.
- MORE MEGAPIXELS EQUAL A BETTER CAMERA

This is not the case. At least not entirely. And this deserves its own blog too because so many entry level phones use this trick to get buyers. Its more about the camera sensor and more recently thanks to AI advancement Image processing which is mostly handles by the SOCs or processors as you would call it and great software to back it up. You see $150 phones having 50mp and still can’t outdo the 12mp on some $1000 phones. Ever wondered how and why? Its not about the number on the box only
- CLOSING APPS MAKES YOUR PHONE RUNS FASTER

This is interesting, YES and NO. it doesn’t necessarily make your phone runs faster in fact it makes the phone work harder. Modern phones are made to manage memory more efficiently. By closing apps, the phone works extra hard to launch it again next time you are using it that it would when its just picking the process for the background.
The YES part is that phones with let’s say 3gb of ram will struggle managing many apps for yes closing them will make it run faster.
